Schedule of June 2015 Events


SATURDAY JUNE 20th

Kanata (CWF) - Self-guided tours of the wildlife-friendly gardens. Learn about different types of gardens from our bilingual wildlife gardening signage! This west-end location includes a pond bed, a forest-edge bed, a drought bed, a unique bog bed and many others! (No parking costs)

Central Ottawa (Fletcher) - Self-guided tours of Fletcher Wildlife Gardens including backyard garden, butterfly meadow and amphibian pond. On-site signage and brochures (French and English) about gardening for wildlife is available on site. Enjoy this nature spot in the city! (No parking costs)

Manotick (RVCA) - Self-guided tours of the gardens. Bilingual signage and brochures will be available.  Access to Beryl Gaffney Park trails nearby. (No parking costs)

Orleans (Petrie Island) - Limited Access to Petrie Island due to Carivibe event.  No Orleans Petrie Island Native Plant Garden Days events planned for Saturday.


SUNDAY JUNE 21st

Kanata (CWF) - 11 am to 3 pm: Canadian Wildlife Federation staff (English only) will be available on Sunday at the garden for questions. Bilingual handouts and posters on wildlife-friendly gardening and Canadian animals will be available also. Come see the gardens and learning about the vast array of Canadian flora that provides native habitat for our wildlife. (No parking costs)

Central Ottawa (Fletcher) - 11 am to 3 pm: Guided tours (in English) by Fletcher volunteers will be available and native plants will be on sale. Interpretive Centre will be open which has great bilingual resources (library, posters, displays).  (No parking costs)

Manotick (RVCA) - Self-guided tours of the gardens. Bilingual signage and brochures will be available.  Access to Beryl Gaffney Park trails nearby. (No parking costs)

Orleans (Petrie Island) - 11 am to 3 pm: FOPI staff (English only) available to answer questions. Wildflower garden self-guided tours all day. Flora signage in English (with French names listed). Bilingual pamphlet will be available in Nature Centre (10 am - 7 pm).  (Parking is $2 for the day.)
